Planning for an engagement and a wedding can be very exciting and also quite stressful. It is often the first time a couple has to discuss and compromise on so many decisions and can sometimes involve (welcome and unwelcome) input from family members. The process of planning a wedding can bring out differences and areas of conflict that you did not realize existed. Premarital Counseling can help!

Premarital counseling is an opportunity to prepare for the commitment of marriage. Couples who participate in premarital counseling find that discussing important relationship topics, learning helpful skills and tools for communicating and resolving conflict, and assessing their relationship strengths and growth areas helps them to feel closer and more confident in their partnership prior to walking down the aisle.

This is an opportunity for you and your partner to learn new skills while openly discussing different aspects of your relationship. I utilize the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment and skills training in my work with premarital couples. Here are some areas that may be addressed in Premarital Counseling:

  • Finances

  • Sex & Intimacy

  • Children/Parenting

  • Religion/Spirituality

  • In-Law Relationships

  • Communication Styles

  • Personal Values

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Personality Types

Premarital Counseling Fees:

  • Initial Assessment $150

    • Includes PREPARE/ENRICH Online Assessment & Workbook

  • $110 per additional session

    • Includes PREPARE/ENRICH Relationship Skills & Tools

The number of sessions varies depending on the needs of each couple but it typically takes 4-6 sessions to cover the PREPARE/ENRICH material.
